Hello, my name is Jordan Borboa and I am the ADA/Title VI Coordinator for the City of Scottsdale. Additionally, I am working towards obtaining my MBA with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024.

About me

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, and attended Arizona State University.  I worked multiple jobs while going through both high school and college. Throughout college, I was able to explore coursework focused on children and families. By 2018, I managed to graduate in just three years at the age of 20 with my Bachelor of Science in Sociology and with Cum Laude honors recognition. Following graduation, I worked as a social worker at a nonprofit in Phoenix, Arizona called Jewish Family and Children’s Service.

After a year in that position, I realized I wanted to help in a different way. So, I decided to apply to law school. I moved to Chicago and attended my first year at the University of Illinois Chicago Law School. I met amazing people and learned so much, but during the pandemic, it was best for me to transfer to Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. While at Lewis and Clark, I was lucky enough to participate in the Lewis and Clark Law School Small Business Legal Clinic, the Lewis and Clark Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC), and the Legal Aid Services of Oregon LITC. I was also able to participate in SBA, the Equity and Inclusion Committee, and various student groups on campus.

Upon graduation, I accepted a role as a legislative analyst with AZ DES DDD. In this role, I have learned more about the intricacies of the AZ legislative process. I thoroughly enjoyed the work I did relating to Arizonans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. However, I decided to take a step into the civil rights realm as I took on the role of ADA/Title VI Coordinator for the City of Scottsdale Arizona. My ultimate goal is to take what I have learned in my academic and professional roles and assist the community while also continuing to grow and learn from future endeavors.
